portraits: 17 of 52

Oh week 17, I so don't want April to end. I want to luxuriate a bit more in this slow paced spring. May means June, June means Summer and I am not quite ready for Summer yet(boys on holiday)...yet perhaps its that I want to be on holiday, just not with the boys.
+The youngest tromping through the heated grass on a hot afternoon hike.
+The oldest using sweet Bella-dog as a pillow. She adores him for this.
+Sweet middle, growing up, smiling big.

I cheated a bit this week with the boys' portraits. These are photos from last weekend and one of them I already used in the blog...sigh. However I didn't want to miss a week so here they are. Little records of time marked out on this universe of a web. Hope you don't mind too much.

from last week//blog love:
+these last lingering cuddles before new baby arrives.
+look at this cute face!
+these beautiful girls. -also here is their mom's very helpful post on the language of DSLR cameras. It is wonderful!
+and this adorable one. she is pulling such a face! -her mom is running an intro e-course on photography which you might like to check out as well

hope you all are well.
xxoo

PS. I am really frustrated with my blog design. I want my text to align with my photos and I have no idea how to do this. Do you know how to do this? Any suggestions to the layout of things? Do you design your own template or have you purchased one? Curious, and any feedback would be appreciated.

  1. gorgeous, that top shot is perfection! i think you would need to go into your template and edit the code so your text space is the same width as your pictures. Or find out what your text space width is and edit your pictures to the same width and then post them as 'original size'. just not sure of the section of code that tells you text width. that's my best guess xxx

  4. Good for you ... you managed to get all three boys ... and I don't think it matters if you've used a picture before or if it was taken last weekend. There are weeks when I'm so frustrated I'm tempted to use one from last year ;0)

My blog uses the most basic of Blogger templates ... I would love to improve the look ... but if I start playing around I'm likely to lose the whole thing.

    1. It is not too hard to play around with it. And there are great templates on Etsy to purchase, I think I am just really picky and so want it to look a certain way with out having to send any money. Thanks for your sweet note!

    1. Hi Mel! I am so glad you like the photo of my youngest. It is my favorite by far.
I still have not figured out how to do it. I have tried CSS, jumping into my HTML etc. I have googled it a million times (or so it seems).
I think I am going to have to consult a professional (gulp) just not sure when. xo

I am looking to redesign my little space in blogland. I have done it a wee bit but it makes me nervous to mess with code... I really need to dive in.

    Happy Sunday!

  16. Hi Rebecca, I meant to comment on this post as I adore the portraits of your boys (particularly the middle one - reminds me SO much of my older boy, content in his own world). Your question about text alignment had me looking at my own blog and wondering the same thing, and since I didn't have the time to figure it out, I went to Yoga's site (http://www.southernspeakers.net/2012/02/maximize-post-width-in-blogger-dynamic.html) - he's a kind soul who helps EVERYONE with blog design issues. He even customized code for me, so please take a look at the bottom of the page at my/our question which hopefully will help you as well; if not, feel free to ask him, he's wonderful (and free! :)...
