details are subtle. lawnmower outside. plants need watering. music from the oldest's stereo. exhausted, the middle is up, yawning, waking from a mid-day nap. the youngest, hiding out playing games in his makeshift fort.
it could be a saturday anywhere, but it is a wednesday, entering into august, the sing song swing of summer.
and the soft melodious song of imagined knights and dragons, dancing in and out of their dreams, helping us cling to these last few weeks before school starts again.
.....i feel like i have been overly absent from this space. but trips are winding down, and there are schedules to begin anew.
but as you know, life starts, and restarts again and again.
I love your words. The way you break things down into humble pieces, a delight. We love the sing song of summer.
