outdoors in :: autumn, persimmons & regrets

Its persimmon season here. And as the days grow shorter, though no less cold, I try to reconstruct the season of Autumn for the boys here in our home. Our CSA brought us persimmons this week and I find something wonderful about them splayed out on the table next to a pomegranate and a pumpkin meant for pie.
My regret this morning is the funny nickel that made its way into the shooting session. When I pulled up the photos and saw it there I was at once surprised and disappointed: that gosh darn nickel just sits there face up, mocking me, making me feel as if my brain slightly addled and aged. How did I not notice it there before? If I was more handy at photoshop, and no want for time, I would quickly scrub it out.  But for now, it sits there in my photos, waiting to be edited and reminding me of how human I am.

  3. Pretend it's meant to be there for scale so we can visualize the size of the persimmons.
