follies of the week:
-feeling defeated...by laundry.
-second guessing, that leads to third guessing, that leads to circular self-doubt.
-time not well spent.
-too much sugar in my tea.
-email...
fodder for the soul:
-15 minutes to read a good book (in bed).
-tea time in the late afternoon with the boys.
-coffee in the early, early morning.
-spending time in the boys' school seeing ALL their fabulous artwork
and projects they have worked on through out the year.
They were pleased as punch to have their parents there at the Open House
and they were so proud of the work their hard work. We were proud of them too.
-walking home in the twilight with all the Merry Men after our visit to the younger boys' school.
for the weekend:
-lunch with friends.
-celebrating my baby sister's birthday.
-playing board games with the boys.
-puzzles.
-good reads.
any follies from your week? any provender for the soul you would like to share?
what is in the works for you this weekend? I would love to know. xxoo
I so love coming here. Your space is always so warm with open arm words:) Too much end of school activity here, but I have been finding time to work on my illustration for a second children's book which gives my heart wings when it feels almost impossible to complete anything. Self doubt is always tangled up in there. It's a knitting itself of sorts, turning all of that doubt into fearless leaps....and I, too, have been sneaking away or staying in bed after everyone is up to catch up on reading:) I wish you the loveliest of weekends sweet girl! XO
ReplyDeleteyour comments always make my heart sing. thank you for sharing the ups and downs and sweet little moments of your life. I hope you have had a glorious three day weekend. xo
DeleteI'm feeling defeated by weeds at the allotment and anxiety about things over which I have no control. But happy that my boys are home from school for a week and the sun will be shining tomorrow. Hope you have a fantastic weekend.
ReplyDeleteI always struggle over things I can't control so I know what you mean. Hopefully the sun was shining this whole weekend for you.xo
DeleteFolly this week is too much social media! It took time away from photography - not a good thing. But fodder was sleeping better than I have been in a long time.
ReplyDeleteOh that social media! it is oft my folly as well. How does it suck one in so?
Deleteoh and sleep, it is so very glorious when we find it. xo
Rebecca, I looked for an email address and couldn't find one, but I wanted to come and say thank you for all of your beautiful and moving comments on my blog this past week. You have shown great support, and I really appreciate it. And I didn't realise you recently lost your mother. Your words have had ME in tears more than once this week. Thank you, thank you xx

DeleteI'm still getting my head around the fact that this week is already over!! Some weeks just fly by too fast, don't you think. Hmm...my follies for the week? Yesterday in the staffroom I spilt food down my pants and then someone pointed out that my cardigan was inside out! Fodder? Well last night I had dinner out with two dear friends. This morning I woke to my see my daughterdancing around the house in a giant brown sack (she was pretending to be a robot) - funniest moment for quite some time.

ReplyDeleteOh these are perfect. xo
DeleteThe laundry has defeated me this week too. I washed lots, but it's all sitting in baskets. Takes me FOREVER to put it away.
ReplyDeleteI have never made it through "To The Lighthouse" although I love Virginia Woolf. I should try yet again.
Have you seen The Hours? Love that movie. :)
Oh Laundry! It takes me forever and a day to put all of it away. It is such clutter some days!
DeleteAnd I have never seen the Hours. I will have to check it out.

Oh follies: too much COFFEE, too late a bedtime, too much time on the computer, too hard on myself...
ReplyDeletebut fodder: just the right amount of coffee!, learning to design my own handknit mitts and hats (had NO idea I would enjoy it so much) quiet time with no kids' noise, and knowing that the easier days of summer are close...
Ahhh the perfect balance of coffee is perhaps one of the greatest mysteries out there.
