boys portraits :: week 19 of 52

These boys, how I do love them ever so so much. The oldest was incredibly allusive these past few days. So alas, no photo for him.  As for the other two, I am thoroughly enjoying trying to catch them unaware. I hold this, in my day in and day out, as a small metaphor for my heart, to be open and open and still and listening, at peace with the Mama-cat in me, taking them all in, letting them Be.

So I silently  scoop up these tiny moments and hold onto them before they pass me by, scurrying on down their path.
In this bottom photo, the youngest looks a bit forlorn there on the couch. He has been sick with some sort of virus/fever all week. I finally took him to the doctors and they said it was just a wee virus. The middle, I just love his dashing looks. You can see how his body is tumbling from boy to teenager some days.  It is not unlike those moments when you look up at your toddler and wonder where all the baby chub has gone from their little thighs and cheeks, watching them run further and further from you, confident that you will always be there when they want/need/have to come back. It is hard to believe I will have a 10yo then a 7yo this summer.  Birthdays amass in this ever busy season of boy.

blog love:  I just think this gets so much harder to pick out just a few. My list seems to get longer and longer every week!
Oh these sweet twins from the Hut Chronicles. Love those baby smiles.
This sweet one taking in life and the great outdoors from Abigail & the Future.
These gorgeous shots from Milk Please Mum.
Adore everything about this sweet photo from One Claire Day.
These sweet two from Sur Ma Coline.

There are so many I have missed! What ones were your favorite from last week? What are you seeing this week? I would love to know. Happy Early Mother's Day to you all. xxoo

  1. Happy Mother's Day to you Rebecca - enjoy all those special fleeting moments with your boys!!!! We really have to soak up the little they still give us. I also like to capture them unknown (a zoom lense is great for this). Love the sweet boy photos and hope the youngest feels better soon. Chey xo

  3. A lovely post, I have three boys, 9, 7 and almost 5, and I know exactly what you mean about trying to hold on to the memories and wonder how they can have grown so fast. The littlest has almost done a whole year at school, and if I look hard enough I can almost see him growing. It is so hard for mothers I think! There is always another milestone flying by, another thing they have got too big for. I love your photos, they are gorgeous, and a great idea to take portraits every week.

  4. I too find it hard to capture my girls and try and do it as quietly as possible but they often catch me and then the faces change and the grumbles begin. It is hard to see them grow and change from little to big, I am starting to notice those changes with my youngest too. I hope your littlest is feeling better now. x

  5. Could your oldest possibly be 12 years old? Because my 12-year-old has been acting similarly for the past few days..... :)
