fodder+folly

follies of the week:
-the desire to be more than perfect.
-throwing away ideas and plans that are risky but could be rewarding,
thinking that I am never good enough to take these risks combined
with my worry of failure in the face of perfection
-never letting things go. because really, there are some things that really need to be let go.

fodder for the soul:
-exercise
-a good book
-quiet knitting, meditating on the stitch
-time for writing & photo taking
-playing with the boys, laughing with friends

this weekend:
-remembering to take a little time for all of the provender & food for my soul
-re-start my grateful lists
-new washing machine! (finally)
-a class on canning with good friends
-beach time (hopefully)

  1. Ah yes, the fear:

"Let it make me sweat and shake and be terrorized" - Mandy Patinkin

I am WELL acquainted with that type of fear. So what are you going to do? Don't keep it from us! I'm sure it'll be fab whatever it is.

And the letting go - some things are so easy to toss and then again, what IS it about those memories/thoughts/ideas that we just hang on to?

It's sunny here after months of rain and I'm looking forward to getting outside this weekend with the man and the girl.

    1. This is a most fabulous quote Sandra. I must write it down and post it somewhere, preferably in a place where I can be taunted incessantly while I dart around the house trying to dodge dreams and risky ventures.

letting go IS one of the hardest things, however I hope you had a brilliant weekend (no rain, perhaps even sun?) with the man and the girl.
