Youngest: You sat with me everyday after school to work on your reading. I love listening to you try to sound things out and I treasure this little ritual that has unexpectedly unfolded.
Middle: You have your best friend over. You two are like peas in a pod and I love that you have a close friend that you can depend on. I can see that you are so very happy by the light dancing in your eyes.
Oldest: Closer and closer everyday to running off to college. Even though it is 5+ years away, every time I turn around you are doing something more grown-up and more responsible. Today, you came home and made your own egg & toast sandwich for snack. Perhaps next week you can start doing your own laundry?
Looking through the collection of lovely posts over at Jodi's blog, it is really hard to pick one or two. However, here are some of my favorites from last week:
Amanda's daughter on the blog Ellieboo. She is so intent on her task. I thought her freckles and her painted fingernails were just so perfect.
Love the way the light frames these sweet faces on Blog a la Cart.
AND I love these black and white portraits on Rachel's blog Tea With Lucy.

Gorgeous boys! And yes doing their own laundry is a good thing!!! x
ReplyDeletethanks Lou! & I AM hoping we will get there with the laundry, sooner or later...most likely not soon enough for me, and not late enough for my oldest. xo
Deletehello and thanks for the mention!

it has been so lovely getting to know other blogging families through this project and extending my circle of blog love...xo
DeleteWhat a lovely trio of boys. It's all girls over my way and I sometimes wonder how different it might have been...
ReplyDeletethanks so. we often wonder what it would be like to have a girl in the mix, however, the joke at our house is, if we get pregnant one more time, i most likely would end up with triplets. triplet girls or triplet boys. & then we chuckle about not knowing which would be worse (or better). xo
DeleteGorgeous photos...I've got a boy that's growing up fast too....surprisingly he doesn't do his own laundry either :0)
ReplyDeletethanks for your sweet compliment.
Deletesigh...boys + laundry. it someday will be a perfect match. just waiting for that someday.
(perhaps I have to seize the day a bit more to encourage this perfect match)

Always so bittersweet when they start doing things for themselves. They grow so very quickly.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful week.
there is a bittersweetness in it all. I am so acutely aware of it these days as my 13 going on 30 just seems to be just so grown up. which means he leans on me less and less. all natural but most definitely bittersweet. thanks so much for stoping by and saying hello.

Ah I look forward of the days when the Kid does her own laundry....ha ha....actually I would settle for her just taking her dirty socks to the washing basket. We can but dream eh? Loving the photos of your boys.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, my first task is most likely getting all three boys to put away their dirty clothes actually into the hamper on a regular basis. Sigh. I wish they just loved to do it rather than out of some sort of bribe/trickery I must conjure up. xo
DeleteSuch handsome boys, and a great collection of photos!
